we thought it would be just one ordinary seminar it would be at St.Paul University Surigao City. we arrived there Friday afternoon and stayed at Leomondee Hotel. was it a bad luck for us that as we arrived, there was a total black out over the city? well bad or not we enjoyed our first day there and linger the very delicious sea foods, the pride of Surigao City. we stroll around the city and enjoyed watching the very many Surigaonon as they spend time at their plaza. it was not a very big city with malls all over, but what makes them beautiful is that they find ways to enjoy themselves in their very own city. after, we relaxed and prepared ourselves for the seminar.
day2: we woke up early morning and ate breakfast at SM (Sulod sa Merkado)..hehehe.. then we went to the host school.. we started late already for we transferred from one room to another, again its because of the blackout thing..(sigh) it was tiresome, but as we started the seminar, all the worries were wiped out.. the students where very attentive that was led by their very jamming instructor Ms Juvylyn Lomboy. we had barista and FBS on the first day of seminar…
aftet the long day, we relaxed for a while in our hotel and ate dinner… again at SM.. and after some chichats, we went to DALES o unwind and meet mr.paolo dolar, who is the pride of Surigao City when it comes to flairtending.. one of the student of St.paul was also there, the bartender of DALES..that is why he was one of the very interested student during the seminar because he wanted know more about the Bar… we had a couple of drinks there and enjoyed watching dance videos and videoke… some of us got a little tipsy already so went to their boulevard and enjoyed the very cold wind straight from the pacific ocean caressing our skin. it was like the wind was soothing some of the alcohols from our body.. and after a while, we went home to the hotel and slept..
DAY3: we almost wake up late already but we still made it on time.. as we arrived from the school, there was only a few students… so we prepared the gym for the bartending topic.. and then a news came to us that a tsunami would hit Surigao city this afternoon.. we got a little bit throttled but we decided to finish our seminar cause that’s what we came for.. we owe the students what they should be learning from us.. we continued the seminars and slowly the students where all arriving one by one.. we had so much fun during the seminar.. but at the back of our mind, we where all a bit scared for news didn’t stop rushing unto us about the said tsunami..
lunch braek came and we had lunch at SM again.. on our way back to school, we saw stores closing.. heard people calling their relatives from other place to pick them up at the city.. the streets where so silent and only very few people are there… we waited for 1:00pm to start the hands on training for flairtending.. there where just few students… and after an hour their teacher arrived informing us that we should stop the training and leave the city as soon as possible.. it was the schools decision already and we fully understand the situation.. so hurriedly we packed our things and prepared to travel home. but we paused for a while and watch the students.. we know they where not happy.. we know that they still wanted so much to learn… but how can we stop natures forces? if only we could… so we said goodbye to each other and had some picture takings, for remembrance….
anyways, it wont be the last time for us there at St.paul…we’ll see you again next time ok? i coild answer my question now.. there was never a badluck for us just beacause of the blackout and the tsunami… indeed we where so happy to encounter students so lovable as them.. till then St.Paul University.. keep in touch..
